I loved listening to Jessie stumble through her parental visit while trying to keep the magic hidden from them. The threads running through the series and the ones that begin and end in this book were enthralling and entertaining. Magical Midlife Invasion builds on the previous books. I loved how Jessie dealt with the situations in this book, how she's learning and growing into her new magical position. However, as everyone knows, change is a big part of life, how we react and deal with it is the key to personal growth.

Jessie is a woman who's comfortable in her own skin and has the confidence of life experience behind her. As a menopausal woman within spitting distance of the big 5-0, I love that this series has an older protagonist and supporting characters. Hollie transported me into each and every scene. There are some very unique characters in this series, and the voices she has created for them all are very impressive. Her performance was outstanding bringing the story and characters to life. I like the pace at which she reads and the emotions she conveys.

I love the believable background stories and settings in her books and marvel at the balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery she creates. She also writes great supporting characters that contribute towards the protagonist's growth and the plot. Her main characters have realistic personalities that I can't help but root for. Breene has an intelligent writing style that's easy to read.

I love her writing style and her stories tick all my boxes. I devoured this story from beginning to end.
